Worked on a few codes it worked for a few and for few questions based on the list got a run-time error.

This code didn't work

a= map(int,input().split())
max = 0
for i in a:
    if (i>max):
        max = i
print(max)




example 02:


list1 = [int(i) for i in input().split()]
sum =0
for i in range(0,len(list1)):
  sum +=list1[i]
print(sum)
