Hi all,
We're planning to again organize one or two hackathons in the upcoming two months to advance the API and other tasks, especially focussing on the upcoming ICPC World Finals.
If you're interested in joining (non-core/new developers also very welcome!) please fill in the poll:
https://doodle.com/poll/vxvs9ri9siq7esgw
We're planning to do a full day, roughly between 10 - 20h Europe time, but everyone is welcome to join in when they have time.
Best, Jaap
Hi all,
The poll showed Saturday 20 January as the first option where many are available, so we'll have our first hackathon of the year on this date.
As usual, we'll aim to have a conference call to discuss what to work on around 10am UTC. We'll use Google hangouts, the link is: https://hangouts.google.com/group/rkHpz4gQRmukZSWk2
During the day we'll coordinate via the hangout chat and/or the IRC channel #domjudge on Freenode.
Anyone interested is welcome to join the call and chats. Let us know if there's a particular thing you'd like to work on that might require some coordination, or you don't know what to work on.
Anyone in the neighborhood is welcome to join at my place in real life in Utrecht, Netherlands. Do let me know to plan this.
Finally, we plan to organize another hackathon roughly a month later.
Best, Jaap

Hi all,
For those who are interested to join, but don't know what to work on: I've tagged a few open issues as "good first issue", see
https://github.com/DOMjudge/domjudge/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%...
These should be relatively easy fixes, and ideal for people who don't have much experience with our codebase yet.

Hi all,
Yesterday we had a hackathon. I propose Sunday 18 February for a followup hackathon. Please let me know if your availability changed from that on https://doodle.com/poll/vxvs9ri9siq7esgw
Yesterday we've made some decent progress. Highlights: - Nicky did a great amount of work to migrate our API to the full multi-contest version that we drafted for the ICPC [1], [2]. - Thijs started a redesign of the team page, first focussing on the menu bar.
As a side note, I would urge anyone using (or planning to use) our API to target the specification [2], as we're going to conform to it, and aim to support it long-term. Feedback on the current release candidate of this Contest API specification is also welcome. The specification has essentially been frozen leading up to the 2018 World Finals, but we will consider updates afterwards.
Best, Jaap

Hi all,
After noticing that two of us weren't able to make it anymore on the 18th, we've now scheduled:
DOMjudge hackathon on Sunday 25 February

Hi all,
For those interested: tomorrow we're doing another hackathon. Most of us will probably start around 9-10h UTC, and we'll have a call to coordinate what to work on at 10h UTC at:
https://hangouts.google.com/webchat/frame3?zx=1519152021
Feel free to join the call, or the chat there or in our IRC channel anytime!
There are a number of relatively simple bugs/features to fix for those interested, but feeling daunted to dive in, see:
https://github.com/DOMjudge/domjudge/issues?q=is:issue+is:open+label:%22good..."
